Plasticine
Plasticine, a brand of modelling clay, is a putty-like modelling material made from calcium salts, petroleum jelly and aliphatic acids. Most of children like to play this kind of toys, because plasticine can be made into any shape you like. When children play with this toy, they can promote their imagination, for they can use the material to make anything they have imaged. For we know that children’s perception is different from our adults, we can see what their world were through what they have made.
Plasticine is often used in clay animation. This technique is popularly known as Claymation in the US, and is a form of stop motion animation. Plasticine is appealing to animators because it can be used with ease: it is mouldable enough to create a character, flexible enough to allow that character to move in many ways, dense enough that it can retain its shape easily when combined with a wire armature, and does not melt under hot studio lighting.
We can see in the shops or the internet that plasticine has many different colors and package, so they also have different functions. Many of them are soft, or some others are harder than others. Different packages have different material.
